Manufacturer Part Number: WB19K10025

This thermocouple sits in the pilot flame and signals the oven safety valve that a flame is present. Replacing a weak or open thermocouple restores safe ignition and consistent burner operation on standing-pilot gas ranges.

  • Detects heat from the pilot flame and generates a small millivolt signal to allow the oven safety valve to remain open
  • Common symptoms of failure: oven won't heat, burner lights then goes out, pilot won't stay lit, intermittent oven shutdown
  • Confirms flame presence to help prevent unlit-gas flow during operation
  • Intended for standing-pilot style gas ovens/ranges
What's included: One thermocouple. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off gas before servicing; allow the appliance to cool
  • Route and secure the new thermocouple exactly like the original; avoid sharp bends and kinks
  • Position the tip correctly in the pilot flame; hand-start threads and snug fittings—do not overtighten
  • After installation, check all connections for leaks with a soap-and-water solution and verify proper burner operation

Answer

Neal, This is often referred to as a "mili amp" circuit, so you'll need a multimeter than can read mili amps "MA" on your meter dial. You'll need to have the pilot lit and the thermocoupler disconnected from the safety valve, then check the mili amps from the solder cap in the center of the coupling to the capillary tube casing. No reading( infinite resistance) would indicate a faulty coupler, Thanks and Good Luck
