Tamra for Model Number JVM1740SM1SS Hello, My Turntable on my microwave has not worked since shortly after I bought my new home. I finally want to get it working if I can. How can I confirm it's the motor at fault before I order one? I am comfortable using a multimeter but did not know how to access the components to tshoot. Thanks for your help! I'll need to know how to diagnose it's the motor at fault before I order the motor. Much thanks, Tamra
Answer Hello Tamra. Access motor from bottom and test for voltage to the motor. If it is there, and the motor does not run, replace the motor. Be careful testing live voltage. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
