Dave for Model Number LBC22520SW Working on fridge for a relative. Had no power. Replaced bad power fuse on board (the large one). Power came back. This model has fridge/freezer setting numbers controlled with soft touch arrow buttons but does NOT have a digital display. Default settings after power on are 4 fridge 4 freezer. Few mins after it was plugged in we heard the compressor kick in and fridge light slightly dim for a split second as it did (normal behavior). Within a few minutes fridge setting number went dark and freezer setting numbers 6 and 7 were both lit. We powered off and on to the same behavior. We left it on to see what happened. Within an hour freezer shelves were getting quite cold (from contact with sides) but no cold air in freezer and fridge upper warm. Seems like an evap fan motor problem to me but not sure if the control board could also be at fault. Will try to pull interior panel to see if fan motor is seized up. Sound like I'm going in the right direction? Your best opinion would be appreciated.
Answer Dave, It does sound like you are on the right track if the fan motor in the freezer is not blowing. If the fuse on the board had blown and you just replaced the fuse then you would want to replace the main control board. If the main control has been replaced then the display board would want to be replaced. The entire issue may be with the main board if it has not been replaced because the fuse on the board blew because of something that happened with the board. Read More...
