Rob for Model Number 795.797539.05 The freezer part of the refrigerator/freezer was unintentionally left ajar overnight which caused the unit to extremely ice up. The front ice maker was presenting an error code and would work for a few minutes if power cycled. Unplugged unit for 2 days for a good defrost and then everything seemed to be fine but freezer is icing up and fan is making noises. Door seals seem to be fine.
Answer Hello Rob, You will need to remove the rear freezer wall to inspect the evaporator and any ice that has accumulated. The unit is insulated well enough that the unit will need to be opened and defrosted manually to ensure no ice can contact the fan assembly. The defrost circuit is only designed to remove frost accumulations from a normal cycle and cannot handle unusual ice accumulations such as this. Once all ice is removed and the unit is put back into operation, it should run for 24 hours and the defrost circuit should be checked for any possible problems. Read More...
