Mgs for Model Number LG LMV 1680 BB My LG LMV 1680 microwave stopped working. The microwave was in operation when I heard a loud pop. After that, the microwave just doesn't power up. Checked the breaker and the electrical outlet. They are fine. Nothing visibly wrong inside the microwave (no fire, smell, etc) The front plastic window on the door had come down about an inch. I took the door off, applied glue to the broken tabs and put it back up. Still nothing. I suspect the fuse is blown. I can replace it but what could have caused it to trip? It may not have been the window sliding down. Could it be one of the door switches (this model seems to have 3)? Wanted to order additional parts if necessary when I'm ordering the new fuse. Any insights or direction would be greatly appreciated!
Answer Hello MGS. Test the door switches and make sure they are good and test the magnetron in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
