Answer Fred, You're on track, There's an issue with the thermistor, heater or wiring. You can test the circuits at the heater assembly with a multimeter. the thermistor should have a resistance of 10 to 30 ohms resistance at room temperature and the heater should have a resistance of 10 to 30 ohms resistance as well. If all's OK, check the wiring harness and ther resistance at the control board,The heater/thermistor AEG33121501 is located on the front lower portion of the spin tub and you can access it by removing the front panel and top.
