Bill for Model Number LG WM1832CW Occasionally (1 ou of every 3-4 washes) we get the FE error during the normal rinse cycle before the optional "extra rinse" cycle. Cold water continues to fill the tub and the drain is pumping (but not quite keeping up). If we turn off the washer, the cold water continues to fill the tub and the drain stops. If we shut off the inlet water valve at the wall, and run a spin cycle, once the drain has pumped out all the water and the spin cycle is done; the door unlocks. At this point if we turn on the inlet water valve at the wall again, everything is normal (no running cold water). Since it is not consistently doing this I'm not sure if it is the pressure sensor switch or the inlet value assembly. Which part do you think should be replaced? Thanks!
Answer Hello Bill. It sounds like the unit is siphoning out the water in the unit. Check and make sure there is only 6" of drain hose in the drain pipe. Also, make sure the drain pipe is 36" off the floor in height. You will need to check and make sure the drain hose has an air gap going into the drain pipe. If it is air tight, it will siphon.
