Mary for Model Number WM3001HRA

Water was continuously running into the dispenser tray with an FE error so already replaced the hot and cold water intake valves. That fixed the rushing water problem, but a new issue has popped up. When I use cold water in a cycle the detergent and softener dispenser do not disburse the liquids. Water rushes into the pre-wash tray but nothing is released from the detergent and softener bins. Also, now when I use hot water for a cycle there is a intermittent hissing sound when water flushes the dispenser tray and the hot water line on the back of the machine jumps every time the machine pulls in water. This did not happen before I replaced the water intake valves. The parts are from an LG authorized dealer. Why is this happening?

Answer

Mary, Check and make sure you installed the cold water fill valve correctly, and the tubes to the dispenser housing aren't kinked, twisted, have sharp bends. The dispensers operate on cold water supply and a "syphon" process. Remove the dispenser cups, and check to make sure the tubes and caps aren't clogged with softener, detergent, etc. Recheck the cold water fill valve screen to make sure it isn't clogged with sediment, check the hose to make sure it's not kinked or twisted, etc. You may want to "flush" the cold water faucet and supply line, to make sure you have plenty of cold water supply to the washer. The hoses "jumping" is due to a pressure difference. it is possible that the new valve has a different tolerance and can open and close rapidly or more rapidly than the previous valve solenoids.
