Guy for Model Number MER5770AAW The oven heats, but falls short of the proper temp. that it's set for. I checked with a manual thermometer in the oven, setting on the oven was 350 and the actual reading was 275. How do I determine if it's the element or temp sensor?
Answer Hello Guy. The sensor should read around 1100 ohms at room temp and 1650 ohms at 350°. Id it is testing properly, but the oven temp is not correct, replace the sensor. If the sensor is reading good, and the oven thinks it is 350°, you will need to replace the control on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
