Samuel for Model Number smh7178std My samsung microwave is arching and making loud popping sounds. I took top metal cover off and saw a black burn mark on magnetron shield. After removing magnetron i saw the part on it that was under shield was burnt and corroded. If I replace magnetron will it fix microwave or are there more parts that need to be replaced? Also, which magnetron should I purchase?
Answer Hello Samuel. If the sparking is coming from the magnetron then yes, you will need to replace the magnetron in the unit. Check and make sure the stir assembly DE97-00367A is not bad.
