Jenny M. for Model Number Samsung Microwave Model #smh7178std Hello! Our Samsung Microwave (Model # SMH717STD) will turn on but sparks and makes a VERY loud popping noise. If we replaced the MAGNETRON Part # OM75P(10), will this theoretically fix the problem? Thank you!!
Answer Hello Jenny. If the sparking is coming from the magnetron then yes, you will need to replace the magnetron in the unit. Check and make sure the stir assembly DE97-00367A is not bad.
