Virgil for Model Number samsung RS2630SH Hello:My condenser fan is making a horrible noise, and when I unplug the fan the nosie stops. I am ready to order a new fan motor, but I have noticed that the fan is on far more often that it is off. My other fridge (a frigidaire) the fan is only on every so often. I am wondering--could I have another seperate problem causing the fan to run so frequently, or is it normal on this model for the fan to run most of the time? I don't want to replace the fan if there is some other problem as well. How often should the compressor be running (I am assuming the fan runs anytime the compressor is on?), and how hot should the compressor get? Also, I have heard that the blade does not come with the new fan and that the old one tends to break when taking it off the old motor. I tried to get it off to see if I could get it off without breaking but was not sure how to get it off. How does it come off, and if I just order the new blade anyway, does it come with the needed hardware to attach it to the new motor? Hoping to order parts today. Thanks in advance for any help.
Answer Virgil, You're almost correct, The condenser fan motor can run, even though the compressor does not. There are several inputs from thermistors, inside and outside the refrigerator. Replace the fan motor and check to make sure you have a small amount of clearance on each side and across the top to get some cool, make up air to keep things cool. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
