Tom for Model Number Lat2500AAe I replaced the lower trans seal using the tool and procedure provided and I'm still getting oil down by the belts and pulleys any suggestions ?
Answer Tom, There are a couple of things to try, Remove the pulley assembly and seal, ( of course you'll need another seal first) Use a cotton swab(Q-tip) with rubbing alcohol, ans clean the surface inside the area between the shaft and the casing as far up as the seal depth. when you're ready to install the seal, rough up the side of the seal with a fine grit sand paper. put a thin coat of "perma tex" gasket sealer on the seal wall, and slowly/carefully "walk" the seal up the shaft and partially insert the seal in the casing, you need to be careful, so you don't "nick" the inner seal (top) lip, then complete the installation per the instructions.Allow the washer to set for 12 to 24 hours before using again. If the oil leak persists, you'll need to replace the transmission assembly and associated parts. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, January 4, 2013
