Keith for Model Number Maytag Performa LAT2300AAE I broke the agitator by pulling the fabric dispenser off. It did not want to come off and instead the top half of the agitator separated from the lower half. It broke some plastic pieces that fell out and now it does not really go back together. I am ordering a new agitator. But since this happened, the washer knocks and shakes on the spin cycle. It did not do this before I broke the agitator. Will the new agitator help solve this? BTW, the agitator sort of works but not like it should.
Answer Hello Keith, check that the inner tub is still centered inside the outer tub, if offset even slightly it will cause the unbalance during spin. There is a clamping nut that holds the inner tub to the mounting stem. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, February 17, 2022
