Jim for Model Number LNC6762A71 I have an Admiral washer it recently stopped agitating. It fills, spins and drains fine. While trying to figure out where the problem was,I found out that the motor pulley will only move counter clockwise. My understanding is that the agitation cycle requires the pulley to turn clockwise. What should I be looking at to correct this?
Answer Jim, In a machine that has a "dual direction" motor, like yours, if the motor runs in one direction, but not the other there's a 98% chance that the problem is in the timer, not the motor( there may be an issue in the switch contacts or wiring). The timer contacts reverse the polarity(voltage) to the motor switch, this in turn causes the motor to reverse direction and the motor will then run in the opposite direction. Read More...
