Symptoms of a bad sealed gas burner head include:

  • Yellow or irregularly shaped flames
  • Burner not heating evenly or adequately

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Answer

Marc, It's most likely a "dirty" or clogged burner> you may want to try, removing the burner assembly( unplug the power cord, or turn power off the the range. Remove the grates, grasp and turn the burner 90 dgrs. to the left(counter clockwise) and lift the burner out of the opening. Disconnect the ignitor and ground wire (label them). Using a tooth brush or similar semi soft bristle brush clean all the slots and openings on the burner, you may also need a large needle or fine point awl, to clear any hard debris or deposits. Reinstall the burners and check for the flame size and condition, I think you'll be alright after that. Thanks and Good Luck
