Ralphy Parker for Model Number WTW4800XQ1 I installed a new splutch kit p/n W1072167. The new splutch makes a squealing noise when the washer is agitating. The installation was checked and it appears it was installed properly. It appears that one of the new parts is slightly out of round as there are some wear marks where the shift lever is attached to the transmission gear. The old splutch was reinstalled and the noise went away. The only difference I see between the new and old part is that the large pulley is brown and the old one was tan. I understand that Whirlpool redesigned this part awhile back. Is there a difference in the part, is the new part defective? Being plastic I made sure not to over tighten the pulley and it appears tight with no wobble. Any ideas? Many Thanks.
Answer Ralphy, While the manufacturer made a change to the part we do not know the specifics of it. As for the noise it sounds likely that the part may be defective and need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, March 19, 2018
