Lori for Model Number mvwx655dw0 My washer spins but not fast, it tries to engage but it sounds like it is slipping. I tried replacing the belt but it didn't solve the problem. I have tried calling Maytag and they told me I would have to get a service man to come out. Please help as to what the next step I should take, as I can not afford a service call.
Answer Lori, if it is causing a sound like the belt is slipping, you may have some residue on the pulley that can cause the belt to not catch properly. Another thing you will want to check is to make sure that the pulley is not loose and wobbly. If the pulley is loose and wobbly, it loosens the tension of the belt and can cause the belt to slip, thereby not allowing the proper rotation of the pulley. Read More...
