Jos for Model Number WTW5600XW2 Hi my top loading whirlpool washer won’t start. After I push start the lid locks and it makes a noise like it’s about to start but then the lid unlocks and won’t start. It still shows the time and power on but that’s as far as it will go. Also when I spin the inside with my hand it spins very easily, I’m not sure if that’s apart of the problem. Please help.
Answer Jos, this can be caused by a few things. If there is an error code that appears, this can be used to readily identify what the potential cause may be. However, the lid lock W10404050 can be tested by unplugging the power cord and accessing the main control in the console. At the connection J15, the lid lock would be tested from pin 1 to pin 3 for a resistance between 85O to 155O. If it passes, the next step would be to test from pin 3 to pin 2 for continuity and there should be continuity when the lid is closed.
