Gmay1 for Model Number 11096273100 I am trying to remove the motor (279827) and cannot get it to break lose from the fan blade shaft with out stripping it. Note: the Fan blade looks a little banged up also. What can I do other than junking the whole dryer. Is the shaft AP5176393 above a possible solution?
Answer Hi Gmay1. Hold the pulley end of the motor part # is 279827 with a adjustable wrench, or let it rest in the cavity base. Then reach in the other end of the motor shaft and use another wrench on the Fan blade "neck". Turn the fan off the shaft which has a lt. handed thread. Fan part # WP694089. Most do not survive especially already unbalanced /damaged like yours. Worse comes to it, use a long Chisel and break the fan in half starting at the motor shaft , outward on 2- sides since replacing the motor anyway. The shaft you mentioned is for the tumbler wheels.
