Matt for Model Number ED5VHEXVQ01 Two summers ago, my fridge and freezer stopped working. Fan and compressor would not turn on unless I tapped the temperature controls. I replaced the thermostat and it worked until last summer. Replaced the thermostat again and now one year later I have the same issue - I have to tap on controls for compressor and fan to turn on. During the summers months, I have kids and wife at home that constantly open and close the fridge and freezer. It is possible that the defrost control board is the actual problem and not the thermostat? Or something else?
