Dave B. for Model Number ED2GVEXVD01 My Whirlpool refrigerator ED2GVEXVD01 has the filter indicatror coonstantly flashing, and the compressor is constantly running. The freezer is cold but the fridge compartment is not. I suspect the control board to be the problem. It is listed in the Whirlpool parts drawing as "Control Board Assembly, Defrost" and P/N W10366605. Your website crosses to P/N AP4981837. Are they plug to plug compatable? Am I on the right track? Big difference in price.
Answer Hello Dave, This unit has a defrost timer, not a control board. This unit either has a bad diffuser/damper or the evaporator fan motor has failed. If you hear the freezer fan when you open the door, the evaporator fan motor is good. I would check for a frost build-up on the back freezer wall. If there is no frost, you probably have a sealed system issue. If there is frost on the back wall of the freezer compartment, the unit is experiencing a defrost problem.
