Aly for Model Number kitchenaid #ykecc508g I have a kitchenaid ykecc508g black glass for my cooktop, I broke and need replace it. What is the right one for me? Seems it's the ps375580, is this right? How can I take the one that's broke out? And is it easy to put the new one myself?
Answer Aly, model YKECC508G is a Canadian model and we do not have the parts lists available to verify the corresponding parts. I've found US Kitchenaid model KECC508G* which uses a black cooktop, part number 4455552. Part may work with your unit but I can not guarantee it. To replace it remove power to the unit. Then set towels surrounding the circumference of the unit ion the counter top. Lift the unit up and set it "kitty-corner" on top of the counter top. Than use a 1/4" nut driver to unscrew the side screws that hold the top down. Remove all knobs and rubber grommets that surround the shaft holes. The burners will stay inside the unit. As you are lifting the top off, carefully note where the electrical connections go. Take a cell phone picture if needed. Use a shop vac to clean all broken glass if needed. On the back of the new top is the "top"of the control panel for the switches. You will need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to depress the circuit board stand off clips on all 4- corners that hold the board "sandwiched" together. You will need these boards to insert on the new top assy. Be extra careful of any electrical connector and take note of them. Use a cell phone to picture the connections if needed. Than Its just a matter of swapping out parts. Reassemble in reverse. Thanks. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, August 12, 2014
