John for Model Number KSRL25FRSS00 Are there springs that push open the ice marker cover to keep it open when the door is closed so that the ice falls into the ice container on the door. My problem is the ice maker when the ice is ready it dumps it on the floor of the freezer. At the present time the door just hangs straight down. Is there springs on the ice maker bracket that the cover is attached? Thanks
Answer John, There is not a spring on the icemaker compartment door that would allow it to stay open. The most likely issue would be that either the icemaker had been changed and did not have the correct ice stripper. The ice stripper should have a slant to it and if it has a straight down ice stripper then the part number that would be needed is W10297244. Read More...
