Hello Gman, The ones that can be forced into defrost can be tested by forcing a defrost cycle. This is done on the earlier ones by shorting the first two terminals to the left of the board with the terminals facing up to one another. The ones that this cannot be done to have the first two terminals on the left side will be further apart than the other terminals. These have to be forced into defrost by pressing the door switch 5 or 6 times in 5 seconds. If either design does not go into defrost, (fans and compressor turn off and the defrost heater begins to heat if the defrost circuit is operating properly), the board 61005988 will require replacement.
