Ian for Model Number MEDB800VQ0 Would there be any reason why my Maytag MEDB800VQ0 would cause my electricity bill to double? I am pretty sure it is my dryer. Dryer doesn't dry well on normal setting so we dry most of the time using the timed dry setting. Also, the normal dryer setting will not allow me to adjust the time at all. Thank you!
Answer Hello Ian, If the timed dry is the only cycle that will dry the clothes and you have to run the clothes more than one cycle to dry them, the exhaust duct should be checked. This is the ducting in the home that carries the heat, lint, and moisture out of the home. This would also cause the automatic cycles not to operate properly. Flexible ducting can fill with water or lint and can also be crimped by sliding the dryer against the wall so it should be checked closely. Read More...
