Betty When I turn on the oven is not lighting right away and I can smell gas. It does light and no problems once it is on? Should I replace the igniter? Thanks
Answer Hello Betty, If the ignitor were the issue the circuit would never draw the current required to open the gas valve. Since you are smelling gas, I would suspect that either the gas valve is opening before it should or the bake burner is in need of replacement. This would point to the gas valve as the issue.
