Sam for Model Number whirlpool gas range sf377pegv7 My Whirlpool gas oven was over heating, then stopped turning on. I went to check the ignitor and it started working when exposed. Do I put it back together and wait till it malfunctions?
Answer Hello Sam, You should check the oven temperature sensor. This is where most temperature control issues arise and is common to be intermittent. Test the sensor for about 1100 ohms at about 70°F and be sure to tap on it during the test in case of an intermittent connection inside the sensor. If out of tolerance by more than 10%, it will need to be replaced. If tested good, go to the board connection and re-test. If it then tests bad, there is a harness issue. Read More...
