Ralph S. for Model Number Magic Chef M# CGR3725ADW I replaced gas valve assembly because gas flow changed frequently and when rapping on valve gas came on completely and then shut off freguently. The ignitor glows a dull orange except in middle glows brighter orange. The voltage at burner is 1.8 volts. The burner now comes on fully but shuts off periodically. Another post stated that I should have close to 4 volts at the burner.
Answer Hello Ralph. It sounds like the igniter is weak and is causing the problems your having. You will want to test at the gas valve and see if there is 3.0-3.4 VAC there. If not, you will need to replace the igniter 12400035 in the oven. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
