Jeff for Model Number Magic Chef Range Model #3468xva You just answered a question for me.. Your answer was very helpful.. I just wanted to ensure that it isnt the preasure regulator or gas valve that can be bad. My oven does not light , broiler as well as all top burners work properly . Igniter for oven gets extremely hot but oven gas rail wont ignite... I'm assuming since everything else is working , the regulator as well as gas valve are fine ??? ( You told me to replace igniter ) Thank you
Answer Hello Jeff. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter 12400035 will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
