Danny for Model Number 31001PAT i have a magic chef oven.. the four gas burners work but the broiler and oven don't work.. the oven ignitor same to to burn out.. one of the wire looks bare and it looks like it grounded it self out.. the pilot doesn't lite either. i don't even smell the propane.. and how do i know if its a round or flat igniter.
Answer Danny, All newer gas cooking products use a "flat" type oven igniter 12400035 . There are more components involved in the ignition and flame operation of the oven, and with a shoted bare wire, I fear there could be more damage. Theres the possibiliy that the contacts in the thermostat have shorted or a damaged switch in the oven burner valve, so be ready to need to investigate further if the igniter and repairing the wire don't solve your issue.
