Steve for Model Number 70231 (Hardwick) My oven/broiler will not light. The burners light and work fine. I replaced the ignitor and oven/broiler is still not lighting. I ran a continuity test on the new ignitor and it seems fine. I am getting power down to the ignitor and down the red wire to the oven valve. Do you know what the problem could be? Do I need to replace the oven valve?
Answer Hello Steve. If there is 3.2 to 3.4 volts AC at the gas valve, and no gas is released, you will need to replace the gas valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
