Mel for Model Number Cannot find model # My Maytag wall oven(24") takes a long time to heat up...igniter glows but no flame and seems to be getting worse. Sometimes takes over 30 minutes to heat? Is this just an ignitor problem or something else? My user's guide says model # is cwg4100,4600,3100,or3600. I'm not sure how to tell which I've got. Thank you
Answer Hello Mel. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html We will need your model number to help you with this.
