Lorraine for Model Number MDE6400ayw We have replaced the door switch, timer and tested the thermal fuse. Dryer still doesn't work. It does not have a push to start switch. Should I replace the thermal fuse just in case????? Could it be the motor? It made no sound no squeak just would not turn on one day.
Answer Hi Lorraine. Did you get the response we sent you yesterday? However, Take out the drum and see if the motor will run with the door switchjumped between Yellow and purple. I have (very rarely) seen a thermal fuse ohm closed but not be able to carry the amount of amperage needed for the motor. The thermal fuse is part # WP307473. The motor has to have 120vac on the blue and white to run, but 240vac between blue and black. The motor is part # W10410997. Thank you. Read More...
