Angie for Model Number MHE14XMQ-2 Hello, the light underneath the microwave the shines down onto the cooktop went out, and I replaced it twice with a 40W 120V bulb, both times it burned out within just 1 day. What's the problem? Under the microwave, it says "lamp rating: max 40W 120V", so I think replaced it with the right bulb. Help, please!
Answer Angie, If you're using a 40 watt 120 VAC appliance light bulb, you're using the correct part, Are you sure your installing the bulb snugly, but not too tight, and did you notice if the wiring and socket are tight and mounted properly. Don't use the hood light as a "night" light" that really shortens the life of the bulb. You may want to use a dab of vaseline on the end and the threads of the new bulb.
