Randy R for Model Number LA212 Series 10 My washer won't agitate. It fills and spins and drains fine. When you start the agitation cycle, it won't work and smells like burnt rubber. The belts look fine. Do you think it is the motor or transmission gears?
Answer Randy, sounds more like a timer issue WP206230. If the transmission was " locked up", the belts would burn. If the motor was damaged, it wouldn't spin. A bad timer contact, could cause the motor to hum and produce an odor. Based on your post description, you may want to start at the timer. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
