Answer Hi Vince. The tub support kit is always best replaced with the tub seal so they mate together well. This kit comes with all necessary hardware. I have heard of some people using Emory cloth to clean the shaft of the old one. My question remains "How long will the trick last"? As any seal mates with a solid movable part, it will wear a "ring-groove" in the metal part. This will allow the new seal to initially mate , but fail soon thereafter. Support Assy. Part # W10181639.
