Byron B. for Model Number MAH5500BWW I have the loud whine during the spin cycle mentioned in other posts. It changes with the speed of the spin cycle and its hard to stay in the room when its really spinning. I'm assuming its the front and rear bearings of the outer drum. Can these be purchased separately on a MAH5500BWW or do I have to buy the complete drum assembly? Also, is there a seal involved with this model and are any special tools required? Thanks for the answers.
Answer Byron, Yes you can purchase the individual components and repair and replace the bearings and seals. Other than a hammer and a punch or chisel, to knock out the old bearings, no there are no special tools required. You'll need: 12002022 seal and bolt kit, WP22002934 front bearing WP22003441 rear bearing. You may want to "clean up" the tumbler shaft with some penetrating oil and emory cloth, to remove and minor gauges, or scrapes. Thanks Read More...
