Jim for Model Number DU1100XTPSA Dishwasher starts pumps and heats water but wash cycle won't start it just hums and shuts down. Cancel/drain cycle worked. Tear down indicated mechanical problems (bearings fell out of housing on motor shaft). I'm considering buying the circulation pump and motor assembly to repair. My concern is I live in a remote area with frequent power outages which have damaged other appliances. I'd hate to spend this much on repair parts and then find I've got a circuit board problem also. Do the facts that all the modes seemed to work filling and heating the water and also the cancel/drain was functional in general indicate the circuit boards are OK? Thanks
Answer Jim, The fact that the " bearings fell out of housing on motor shaft" would explain why the motor would only hum in the wash cycle. At this point, we'd be 95% sure the control board is OK and working properly. Compared to a new dishwasher, it may be worth the repair. Read More...
