Ole Joe for Model Number EED44C0WQ0 I have checked all of the thermostats and fuses. The timer seems to work fine. The tub turns fine, but the dryer still won't heat up. What else could it possibly be?
Answer Hello Joe, The first thing to be done is to verify 240Vac is supplied to the unit at the outlet or terminal block. If the voltage is there, proceed with the troubleshooting process. If not, find the problem, (bad breaker, bad receptacle, bad cord, etc). There are 6 components in the heating circuit. These are the thermal fuse, the cycling thermostat, the high limit thermostat, the heating element, and the centrifugal switch in the motor assembly. Of course this is not counting the wiring harness. The easiest way to pinpoint the issue is to remove the rear panel and dis-connect one of the wires from the heating element. This isolates L1 from L2. By doing this, you can follow the side that has no voltage and the side with 120Vac on it is good. Be sure the wire cannot contact anything before connecting power to the unit. Once you locate the side with no voltage, discontinue power to the unit and proceed with your ohm meter. If the side leads back to the motor switch, it is probably the issue and the motor 279827 will needed to be replaced. If the side with no power leads back to the timer WPW10185970, it is the most likely cause. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, June 10, 2014
