Herb for Model Number KBFA25ERSS Where is the thermistor on my refrigerator and how do I get at it? Do you have a diagram? How do I install the new thermistor?
Answer Hello Herb, The thermistor 12002355 is located behind a small cover WP67003924 against the rear wall near the ceiling of the freezer compartment. To replace it, remove the cover with a small screwdriver in the slot and pry it to the left. One side of the cover will pop off and swivel around and the two tabs will come out. Slide the thermistor out of the cover and cut the wires near the old thermistor. Now strip about 1/2 inch of these two wires and use the two crimp on connectors to connect the two wires to the two wires on the new thermistor after you have trimmed the wires down to about 6 inches in length. Once connected, fill the ends with grease to repel moisture and deter corroision. Now re-assemble the thermistor back into the cover, insert the two tabs back into the slots, and rotate the cover around and snap it into place. Read More...
