Jeff J for Model Number GI5SVAXVQ01 My refrigerator is at 32/33 despite setting it at 46. To test the thermistor I have to remove the light assembly. It doesn't have screws, and it is not clear how it comes off. I don't want to break it. Does anyone have a video or more detailed instructions. Also, if I can test it at the board, are there detailed instructions on how to get to the board and test it? I am very handy, I just need details. Thanks.
Answer Jeff, When you pull your refrigerator out from the wall and get behind it. There is a cover on the back that is held in by 4 1/4" screws. You remove the screws and cover then you would remove the plastic cover over the control board. Once this is done you would use a multimeter and on the J3 connector check from pin 1 to pin 5 which would be a white with blue stripe wire on pin 1 to white with Orange stripe to Pin 5. You will check the resistance of the thermistor to make sure that it is good. The resistance value should be as the following. At 77 degrees 10K ohms, at 36 degrees 29.5K ohms and at 0 degrees would be 86K ohms. These values are plus or minus 1%. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, January 21, 2015
