Larry for Model Number Maytag MFX2570AEM4 The fridge part is not getting cold enough. The freezer is fine. I replaced the main control board and the damper with no effect. I'm thinking it's just the RC Thermistor. The problem is, I can't figure out where it is.
Answer Larry, You will first want to check the evaporator fan motor to make sure that the fan motor is working. If the fan motor is working then you will want to check to make sure that the evaporator coils located int he freezer are not impacted with ice. If they are then this would be a defrost issue. You would want to check the defrost thermostat and the defrost heater to make sure that both have continuity. if one does not have continuity then replace the part. If they both have continuity then this would be a faulty control board. If the coils have a nice even frost pattern then the thermistor would likely be the issue and is located in the light area at the top of the unit and will have to use a flat blade top take out the light area to replace the thermistor.
