Pam for Model Number gb2shtxtb00 I want to check the thermistor to rule it out before I replace the control panel.. the one in the freezer goes up back behind to somewhere. The control panel I assume. I see no wires going in the control panel that match those. Perhaps they are hooked into other wires first? Also can the thermistor be tested without pulling it out?
Answer Pam, You can check the freezer thermistor at the electronic control/display panel in the fridge compartment, heres some infor : On the jazz control board connector J2 pin 3 (white/orange) and Pin 2 9white/yellow)Unplug connector from the board and check resistance across the 2 wires , Temperature/resistance at 77°F / 10,000 ohms, at 36°F / 29,500 ohms, at 0°F / 86,300 ohms. The refrigerator compartment Thermistor is mounted to the control panel housing interior, has the same resistance readings and is in the same J2 connector, pin 3 (white/orange) and pin 1 (white). Should you need a thermistor 12002355 will be used to replace either one. Good Luck and Thanks Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 16, 2011
