Ray for Model Number MFF2557HEW Maytag refrigerator model MFF2557HEW has a froze over evaporator. Turn power off to defrost and unit is at room temp. Remove back panel to check heater. Heater has 29 ohms resistance. Thinking the thermistor is bad; proceed to perform Service Test 1 to 6. Service Test 1 - Defrost Thermostat & Defrost Circuit Test does not respond as the instruction sheet explains. After pressing the refrig + button, to start Service Test 1, the Freezer display reads 1; the refrig display reads 4 for about 3 seconds, then goes blank (no character of any kind). There is no power to the heater. Service Test 2 to 6 work like the instruction sheet explains and pass the test. Does the blank refrig display and no power to the heater mean the control module is bad? Thanks, Ray
