Victor for Model Number Maytag MCD2257HES We noticed the freezer is working fine but over ther past few weeks the refrigerator side is warm. Figuring it might be the damper or thermistor, we replaced both however the problem still exists. The refrigerator gets to about 43-45 degrees but no colder. The damper sometimes is providing cold air, but sometimes is not. Is there anything else we should check (control panel, automatic defrost controller, etc)? Appreciate the help.
Answer Hello Victor. You need to test the thermistors in the unit. It should read around 10,000 ohms at room temperature and around 29,500 ohms at 36°. If it is not reading properly, you will need to replace the thermistor kit 12002355. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
