Jose for Model Number WSF26C3EXW01

The fridge side is at 39 degrees, but it keeps freezing the food on the top shelf. What could be the problem. How can I diagnose it? Is there a video on how to replace the thermistor if that is the problem? You have a video or replacing a thermistor for a different model which is totally different to my model. Also, the icemaker is not making ice. I suspect that since water is flowing at the door dispenser, it cannot be the water filter. What other reason could be? Thanks for your attention.

Answer

Hello Jose, this is not an uncommon complaint on SXS ref models, If this was a control problem, the fresh food section would be frozen top to bottom. As per the Usage booklet for your model: Top refrigerator shelf is colder than lower shelves - On some models, air from the freezer enters the refrigerator compartment through vents near the top refrigerator shelf. As a result, the top shelf can be slightly colder than lower shelves. The solution is to put food items that freeze easily on lower shelves also do not crowd the top shelf as the cold air from the damper has to be able to flow out and circulate freely.
