Carole for Model Number KRSF705HPS00

On the refrigerator side of the KitchenAid (2 door) the evaporator coil has frozen over (3 year old refrigerator). Service tech has try to resolve the problem during the past 7 months replacing: Evaporator cover and fan, Compressor and the Secondary computer board. The service tech company suggested replacing the Main Computer board next with no guarantee; I refused. The refrigerator diagnostic test shows the thermistor is 01. Do you have any suggestions as to what the problem is?

Answer

Carole, It sounds likely that you have a defrost issue with the evaporator in the refrigerator compartment. The 01 would indicate a pass on the thermistor. If there is no air leak around the door gaskets then this would most likely be a main control board that is faulty and would need to be replaced.
