Wayne D. for Model Number MDE308DAYW Electric Dryer Maytag Dryer Model MDE308DAYW will not heat. I replaced the heater element and it still will not heat up. I noticed that the timer does not advance like when it did heat. Could this be a timer issue or a thermostat issue?
Answer Hello Wayne. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the thermal fuses WPW10116735 WP40113801 and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
