Bill for Model Number LA482 my washer will spin & drain, but when in the wash cycle it does nothing but humes. I can turn the agutator by hand from underneath and it goes back @ forth. I'm told it's the transmission, so why is the motor not trying to turn the transmission. belts are new.
Answer Bill, if you turn the pulley, and the agitator oscillates, the transmission isn't the issue. If the washer will spin and drain, it's not likely the motor or the belts. You do want to check and make sure the motor carriage and rollers are clean and lubricated so the assembly slides back and forth freely. The issue should be in the timer WP206230, theres a faulty contact and its not supplying power to the motor windings to turn the motor in the agitate direction. Read More...
